Our Current Communities

We currently support three pilot inclusive communities in the Triangle—North Street Community (Durham), Grosvenor Gardens (Raleigh), and Weavers Grove (Chapel Hill).

These communities are designed to foster connection, support independence, and create a sense of belonging for residents.

An intentional, inclusive community

North Street is a unique neighborhood designed to bring people of all abilities together. With support from HOPE NC, the community is strengthened by the presence of an onsite Community Facilitator who leads inclusive programming, fosters meaningful relationships among neighbors, and connects residents with essential resources.

An historic apartment building consisting of 50 apartments

Grosvenor Gardens is a historic apartment building in Raleigh, home to 50 residents living in a welcoming, inclusive environment. Through a partnership with CASA and Alliance Health, 10 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) live in apartments alongside neighbors without disabilities.

An onsite Community Facilitator helps foster connection, support community engagements, and ensure all residents feel included and empowered in their day-to-day lives.

A mixed income neighborhood built by Habitat for Humanity

Coming in early summer 2026, Weavers Grove is a new mixed-income neighborhood being developed by Habitat for Humanity in Chapel Hill. As part of this inclusive community, HOPE NC will purchase 10 duplexes to rent to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), creating opportunities for independent living in a supportive environment.

A dedicated Community Facilitator will help foster connection, inclusion, and engagement across the neighborhood - ensuring Weavers Grove is a place where everyone belongs.

Applications to live in Phase 1 of the HOPE NC at Weavers Grove were accepted in March 2026. Phase 2 resident applications will be open in February 2028.
