Sharing Food, Building Community

Cooking Up Community at North Street

There's something special about gathering around food—it nourishes not just our bodies, but also our sense of connection. At HOPE NC, we've seen this firsthand through our partnership with the farmers and chefs of Spring Forest Farm.

Together, we're facilitating a weekly cooking class in the heart of the North Street Neighborhood, and the results have been inspiring. Each week, neighbors come together to explore fresh, seasonal vegetables grown right here in our community.

Spring Forest's team brings their expertise and passion to the table, teaching participants how to prepare delicious, healthy meals using what's in season. From greens to vegetables, every session is a chance to learn new skills and try something fresh.

Nourishing BodiesBuilding Connections

But this class is about more than food – it's about building community. As neighbors chop, stir, and taste together, they're also forming friendships and sharing stories.

Everyone leaves not just with nutritious food to bring home, but also with the confidence and know-how to recreate the recipes in their own kitchens. We're so grateful for this amazing partnership with Spring Forest Farm. Together, we're helping neighbors learn how to nourish their bodies and their connections to each other.
